Learn to Play
WHERE DO I START?
STEP 1 – Take a lesson to see if you like it…..
At Heaton Moor Golf Club we offer coaching on a one to one basis and in group sessions and you don’t need any equipment to start playing as we will provide it for you. It is important for the coach to teach you how to hold the golf club properly so you can hit the ball.
We can provide INDIVIDUAL LESSONS from our experienced coach Dave Cullen PGA Golf Professional
If you text Dave on 07754 992286 he will phone you back when he is not teaching.
Once you decide you would like to learn more go to Step 2…….
STEP 2 – Beginners Academy
- If you are a complete novice or not played for a very long time why not join our Beginners Academy. The Academy offers playing and coaching sessions combined to help you achieve your goal for a very reasonable £50 pcm. With 2 group sessions and one individual coaching session a month combined with playing the front 9 holes of the course you will find this is the perfect way to get into golf. Also the group sessions are an ideal way of meeting other new golfers. You will also be invited to join a WhatsApp group and attend a Welcome Meeting so you can ask any questions you want. Fill in the form below and return to the Club Office or Pro Shop BEGINNERS ACADEMY APPLICATION FORM
Once you have completed your Academy membership you should have your handicap and the next step would be to join the Club as a member.
STEP 3 – Membership
To become a 6 day associate member would be a similar price to what you have been paying on the Academy so no big shocks to your pocket there! The benefits now are you can play in the various sections at the club. Have a look under the Join section of the website for more information on the various Sections. You can view all our membership fees here https://www.heatonmoorgolfclub.co.uk/memberships/
WHAT DO I NEED TO BUY:-
Clubs – Once you have decided to take up golf you will want to buy some clubs. There is no need to rush out and buy a set of Ping golf clubs! Our Club Pro Simon Marsh is very experienced with new members and sells new and second hand clubs. You don’t need a full set of clubs. He lets you try them out on the course before you buy to see if you like them. He will offer you good advice and let you buy one club at a time, if you want.
Shoes – The Pro shop do a good range of golf shoes and you can also buy shoes online or at local stores like Decathlon.
Golf Bag/Trolley – Again the Pro shop or you could buy second hand online
The Pro shop is very well stocked so pop in and have a look around.
